Report and infographic design

Updated: Dec 4, 2020

In June 2017, WRENmedia was contracted to provide monthly communications support to the Malabo Montpellier Panel (MaMo). MaMo is a group of 17 international agriculture experts, which aims to guide policy choices to accelerate progress towards food security and improved nutrition in Africa. Members include Agnes Kalibata, President of the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa and Ishmael Sunga, CEO of the Southern African Confederation of Agricultural Unions. WRENmedia delivered a range of services to the MaMo team based in Imperial College London and Dakar, Senegal. This includes writing and editing blogs for the website, creating social media toolkits for specific events – which involves editing short videos to share on Facebook and Twitter – and designing brochures or presentations to be distributed and delivered at events.

In addition to providing regular communications support, WRENmedia has also designed MaMo’s two research reports during 2018, Mechanized: Transforming Africa’s Agriculture Value Chains and Water-Wise: Smart Irrigation Strategies for Africa. Both reports include a set of separate case studies from 9-12 African countries, which provide lessons and evidence for African decision-makers about the successful agricultural policies that have been implemented on the continent. To summarise key points highlighted in the report, WRENmedia has also designed eye-catching infographics.

The reports are presented to high-level decision-makers at the bi-annual MaMo Forum, which brings experts and policymakers from across Africa together to assess strategies for the continent to meet global agriculture and food security goals, such as the Sustainable Development Goals and the Malabo Declaration. To maintain the momentum generated by the Forums and ensure the report recommendations have a lasting impact, WRENmedia supports MaMo to develop content that links the reports’ findings to industry events taking place throughout the year. After the Forum in December 2018, which saw the launch of the Water-Wise report, MaMo Programme Head, Katrin Glatzel, told WRENmedia: “The Forum was a great success and the report, case studies and infographic were very well received.”
