The Battle Against Bluetongue

Europe is under attack. A virus that has existed for decades in Africa, Asia and the Middle East is now invading Europe. The virus causes no harm to humans but has deadly results for the farm animals it infects. But the European farming and pharmaceutical companies are fighting back. In the Battle Against Bluetongue, in One Planet on BBC World Service, Susie Emmett discovers why the disease is spreading so far and so fast and whether the European approach to defeat it is working.

This WRENmedia documentary for BBC World Service was broadcast in One Planet in December 2008.
